Beautiful yarn donation!!!

Thank you so much to our friend Caroline L. in Connecticut for the amazing donation of 36 skeins of yarn!!! We'll be using this yarn to make hats and scarves for HavenHouse St. Louis and baby items for Newborns in Need of Eastern Missouri!

March 12, 2017 meeting!

We had a great meeting today! Two more baby items for Newborns in Need of Eastern Missouri were donated-- thank you, Yun Ju for knitting the colorful baby afghan and the cute baby dress. LaDonna and Joanne worked on piecing together some baby afghan squares and figuring out what complementary colors to include in the finished blanket. Other members continued working on their projects.

March 4th donation to Newborns in Need of Eastern Missouri

We donated 1 baby afghan, 10 baby hats, 2 sweaters, and 1 bib  to Newborns in Need of Eastern Missouri (NIN) today. Wednesday March 1st, 2017 Meeting!

We had a nice meeting tonight! Members practiced new stitches and techniques, and several members donated items. Keep up the great work and remember that the Newborns in Need Challenge is still going on!!!

February 19, 2017 Meeting!!

We had a wonderful meeting today! Several members donated items for Newborns in Need of Eastern MO, and everyone had fun working on their projects. Keep knitting for NIN! Today we celebrated the completion of Sarah's Gold Award project with a special cake! Kids Knitting it Forward will continue under the guidance of our new president: May! Keep up the fantastic work!!

February 8th, 2017 Meeting!

We had a fun meeting tonight!! One member donated her beautiful afghan for Newborns in Need of Eastern Missouri, and other members had fun talking and working on their projects. Right now we're doing a NIN Challenge, so keep those baby items coming! Yarn, needles, and patterns are available to anyone who needs them. Keep up the fantastic work!

January 22, 2017 meeting!

We had a fantastic meeting today! We had a special guest speaker, Ms. Paula Kinney,
Program Director of HavenHouse St. Louis. She told us about HavenHouse's mission, and we were so happy to donate 48 hats, 2 pairs of slippers, 4 pairs of gloves, 1 headband, and 9 scarves knitted by Bella, Carolyn, Grace H, Jenne, Joanne M, Joanne S, Katie, Madeline, May, Na, Olivia H, Sarah, and Yun for HavenHouse guests!

Mrs. Judy Giovanoni, president of Newborns in Need of Eastern Missouri (NIN) was also at our meeting, and we donated 9 baby afghans knitted by Bella, 1 baby hat knitted by Katie, and 1 pair of baby booties knitted by Jenne for NIN. We are starting our big NIN challenge now-- please knit baby items (hats, booties, afghans, etc.) of your choice. Please remember that baby afghans need to be at least 30 inches by 30 inches in size. Please let us know if you need yarn or patterns for your baby projects. Thank you!

Also, we have reached an amazing milestone!  As of today, 37 volunteers have contributed almost 2600 hours of service, knitting 52 red scarves for Foster Care to Success' Red Scarf Project, 183 items for Newborns in Need of Eastern Missouri, and 139 items for HavenHouse St. Louis. Wow!!!

1st Meeting of 2017!!!

Bella's Donation!!

A big shout-out and thank you to our wonderful member, Bella! She knitted 38 hats for HavenHouse St. Louis and 9 baby afghans for Newborns in Need of Eastern Missouri!!! Wow! Thank you so much, Bella, and keep up the great work, everyone! Remember, we're donating to HavenHouse at the end of January, so keep that in mind as you work on your projects!

December 18, 2016 Meeting!

We had a great last meeting of 2016 this afternoon! It was a quiet meeting, but fun to knit with the members who braved the cold weather. Thank you all so much for the hard work you've put into knitting items this year! See you in January!

HavenHouse St. Louis Donation!

This afternoon we donated 21 scarves, 11 hats, 3 headbands, 1 pair of slippers, and 2 pairs of gloves to HavenHouse St. Louis! Thank you to Elise, LaDonna, Olivia K, Sarah, Joanne M, May, Katie, Grace W, Ovya, Diya, Lane, Carolyn, Pam, Nancy, and Aleesha for your hard work knitting those beautiful items! We will be donating more items to HavenHouse in a few months, so keep knitting winter items in all sizes and colors!

Donation to Foster Care to Success' Red Scarf Project!

Today we mailed a donation of 20 red scarves to Foster Care to Success' Red Scarf Project HQ! We're very proud of all the hard work everyone put into knitting those scarves. We appreciate all of you!

November 20th Meeting!

We had a wonderful meeting today! Lots of new members joined and several members donated items. We now have 20 red scarves to donate to Foster Care to Success' Red Scarf Project this year! Thank you to everyone who knitted or is currently working on a red scarf! We will now be switching over to knit winter items for HavenHouse St. Louis. Keep up the great work, everyone!

Wednesday November 9, 2016 Meeting!

We had a great meeting last night! Members continued working on red scarves and other projects. Four members completed and turned in their first knitted items--red scarves for Foster Care to Success' Red Scarf Project! This brings our red scarf total up to 14! Keep up the great work and keep knitting!

Sunday October 23rd, 2016 Meeting!

We had a great meeting today! 6 new members joined Kids Knitting it Forward, and immediately got started knitting once they learned how. We currently have 9 red scarves for Foster Care to Success' Red Scarf Project, and we want to get at least 10 more! Keep up the awesome work, everyone!

October 12th Meeting

We had a nice meeting tonight! Members worked on red scarves and had fun chatting together. A large pattern book was passed around and members had fun looking through it for ideas. Remember, we're trying to make 30 red scarves to donate to Foster Care to Success' Red Scarf Project by November! Keep the great work!

We had an awesome meeting today! Lots of new members joined, including four teens who learned how to knit with the help of our amazing adult volunteers! Several members also donated items and started new projects. Keep up the fantastic work, everyone!

Saturday June 4, 2016 KKIF Meeting at NIN!

Today, KKIF members attended the Newborns in Need of Eastern MO meeting to meet their members and find out more about NIN! We donated 1 afghan, 1 bib, and 8 baby hats to NIN today! Members enjoyed meeting new people and learning about NIN as well as helping to bag up items to be donated to the agencies that they serve! Great work everyone!

May 11, 2016 Meeting!

Despite the rain, we had a productive and fun meeting tonight! Several members donated items, including one member who donated her first baby hat for Newborns in Need of Eastern MO! Members had fun looking at books of new patterns and finishing off projects. Great work, everyone!

May 6th 2016 Newborns in Need Donation!!!

Today we made a huge donation to Newborns in Need of Eastern Missouri!!! We donated 34 baby hats, 7 pairs of baby booties, 5 bibs, 6 afghans, and 2 sweaters!!! We spent 287 hours on just these donations!! We surpassed our NIN Challenge goal and we are so excited! Fantastic work, everyone!!
