We had a fantastic meeting this afternoon! Nine new members attended, many of whom tried
knitting for the first time today. Many
thanks to our experienced knitters for getting the new knitters started.
Completed items for HavenHouse St. Louis, Newborns in Need
of Eastern Missouri, and Foster Care to Success’s Red Scarf project were
donated today. We are especially grateful to Jean, Newborns in Need of Eastern
Missouri member, who is assembling baby afghan squares knitted by our members
into a colorful afghan.
Our members have knitted a total of 973 items since the group
started in January 2015. We have set a goal of reaching 1000 items in the next
month! We are currently knitting red
scarves for Foster Care to Success’s Red Scarf Project and warm winter items
for HavenHouse St. Louis guests. Please
let us know if you need patterns or yarn!
Can the knitted squares be different types of knitting stitches or stockinette only? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI meant garter stitch!
ReplyDeleteHi Patrice, knitted squares don't have to be garter stitch only-- they can be other stitches. The only requirement is that the squares be six inches by 6 inches. Thank you!
